The Secret to Creating the Perfect Whipped Soap

Use our top tips to ensure your whipped soap comes out perfect every time

Whipped soap is a luxurious, creamy product loved for its light texture and rich lather. However, the process of creating this product involves mastering both technique and formulation.

Here are some essential tips to help you create your best whipped soap yet.

Select Quality Ingredients

High-quality ingredients are the foundation of great whipped soap. Key components include a blend of hard and soft oils (like coconut oil and shea butter) and a gentle surfactant such as sodium cocoyl isethionate (SCI) for a mild yet effective cleanse.

Measure Precisely

Accurate measurements are crucial. Use a digital scale to ensure precise amounts of oils, butters, and other ingredients. Even small deviations can affect the texture and performance of your whipped soap.

Melt and Blend Your Ingredients

Melt your ingredients together gently to maintain their beneficial properties. Once melted, blend them thoroughly using a stick blender until you achieve a smooth mixture.

Whip it Real Good

The whipping process is what gives whipped soap its airy texture. We advise to use a stand mixer to whip the mixture on medium to high speed. Continue whipping until it reaches a fluffy, mousse-like consistency. This can take several minutes, so patience is key.

Add Fragrance and Color

Incorporate your chosen fragrance and colourants once the soap base is whipped to your desired consistency. Mix these in gently but thoroughly to avoid deflating the mixture.

Choose the Right Packaging

Transfer the whipped soap into jars carefully to maintain its fluffy texture. Use a piping bag and quality nozzles will minimise air pockets and create a professional finish.
