Common Creator Anxieties and How to Overcome Them

Helping you get over any hurdles that are stunting your growth as a creator

If you’re sat on the fence, wondering whether you’ll be able to get over the anxieties that are stopping you from becoming a cosmetic creator, you’ve come to the right place.

Here are some of the most common creator anxieties our community has expressed and our advice on how to overcome them.

“I don’t know which products to make”

First, start by creating products you’d use yourself. This will not only give you a good idea of how to make the design appealing to potential customers, but it also provides you with a great opportunity to test your creation first before selling it to others.

“I don’t know where to start”

The best way to dip your toe into the world of cosmetic creation is by purchasing one of our “Make Your Own” Kits. With 12 options to choose from, all priced under £30, try making several different kits to see which process and end product you want to make with an assessment.

“I don’t know where to find inspiration”

Join our Facebook Support Group and follow us on social media to surround yourself with regular posts that showcase our community’s most imaginative and high-quality products. Although we, of course, discourage copying someone else’s design, there’s no harm in using their creative streak for your own inspiration.

“I’m worried about not making sales”

If you’re not in a position where you can create your products without the pressure of making sales, we’d recommend waiting until you’re more comfortable with your financial situation. Start by treating your creative business as a side hustle alongside your full-time job until you establish a customer base and get to grips with how much profit you can expect to make.

“I’m scared my products won’t be perfect”

With cosmetic creating, practice really does make perfect. While you’re no doubt going to encounter multiple issues with your first few batches, it’s those mistakes that are going to make you a better creator in the long run.
