Preparing for 2024: Next Steps for Your Business

How you can take your home, bath and body business to the next level

We pride ourselves on being much more than just a supplier for cosmetic creators at every stage of their journey, from casual hobbyists to side hustlers to all-out business owners.

As with other supplies, we make sure to provide creators with the products, tools and ingredients they need to make the most unique and high-quality home, bath and body products. However, we also want to be your biggest cheerleader.

We know that it can be daunting to take the next step in business. Trust us, we built Soak Rochford from exactly the same position you’re in right now. Which is why we want to share the mistakes we’ve made, lessons we’ve learned and choices we made along the way to get us to where we are now.

So, if you’re ready to take your home, bath and body business to the next level in 2024, here are our top tips on where to start.

Have a Well-Rounded Brand

All successful brands have an obvious and unique personality their audience can build a connection with. And as competition in the industry grows, it’s vital you develop your own sense of individuality to stand out from the crowd.

First, develop a brand kit that includes all the logos, colours and fonts your business uses across all channels. This will make it easy for your customers to spot your messaging, creating quick recognition and brand awareness.

Then, decide on how you want to communicate. Research into how your customers speak and replicate that in your content so that you become an authentic, relatable peer. For example, would they be turned off by swearing? Do they understand colloquial terms?

Perfect Your Signature Products

Don’t walk before you can run. By that, we mean don’t feel pressured into purchasing every single assessment to expand your product range before you feel comfortable with your first recipe.

If you want to be known for your bath bombs initially, spend plenty of time mastering the art of creating, designing and painting them before taking them to market. Ask friends, family and customers for honest feedback so you can be sure you’re providing the best possible product.

Get Clear on Your Pricing

Pricing can be an intimidating topic. Charge too much and you’ll deter potential customers, charge too little and you won’t make a sufficient profit.

Jay, the founder of Soak Rochford, has created this in-depth tutorial on how you can calculate your costings to correctly price your products. So, if this is something you’ve previously struggled with, grab a cup of tea and give it a watch.

Dedicate Time to Marketing

Unfortunately, your customers aren’t going to come knocking at your door asking to purchase your latest whipped soap. You’re going to have to go to them.

Spend time thinking about your customers and use this information to create three customer profiles. Decide on their age, gender, hobbies, family life etc, from this, you can imagine where you need to spend a majority of your time to gain the highest payoff from your efforts. For example, if one of your customers is a 50-year-old male, the odds are you’d be wasting your time creating content for TikTok.

Be consistent with your efforts, stay resilient and keep on top of your insights to see what’s working best for you!

Use our Facebook Group’s Expertise

Our Facebook group has over 4,000 cosmetic creators, we also have some extremely experienced and super-friendly admins, as well as Jay, the founder of Soak Rochford, who are always on hand to provide feedback, share ideas or give advice.

Don’t be scared to reach out to the group, it’s a safe space that has been created for cosmetic creators by cosmetic creators so that together, we can build each other up.
