How to Use Your Friends and Family in Your Business

Make the most of those around you with these tips

Being a small business owner means that you are almost always left to your own devices.

Although this is beneficial when it comes to making important business decisions, setting your own working hours and more, it can also mean that you struggle to do everything yourself…

So, here’s how you can rope in your friends and family to help you with your business!

Kids:

Put those chaotic little hands to good use and have them transform your “whoopsies” into bath dust.

Just drop your creation into a ziplock plastic bag and have them let them go into a mini frenzy with a rolling pin.

Friends:

When you think your products are high-quality enough to sell to customers, consider passing them around to your friends to test them out first.

Our top tip for this one is to make sure you’re gifting to honest friends! If they’re worried about hurting your feelings, they might not want to tell you that there wasn’t a prominent scent or that your bath bomb didn’t fizz.

Partner:

Sometimes the economic side of business can get rather confusing, so it’s good to get a second opinion on what you’re looking at.

Think about drafting your partner to help look at your finances and how you can maximise your profits and keep your outgoings intact.

Parents:

If your parents always seem to have more spare time than you do, why not occasionally ask them to help with your shipments?

If it feels like you have orders stacking up around you before you can even think about getting to the post office, then it might be worth reaching out to see if they could do a quick drop-off for you.

Pets:

Yes, that’s right, pets can help too!

Because we all need a fluffy cuddle when things get too much, right?!
