A Deep Dive into Creating Liquid Soap

One of our newest additions to the assessment family

Our community had been asking for this product for years, so it was no surprise that it was immediately snapped up by Soakies. The liquid soap assessments gives you the freedom to create and sell hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, body wash, bubble bath and more.

See below for a range of liquid soap tips including Jay Rochford’s advice, what Soakies have to say, the best tools for your process and some creative inspiration.

Jay’s Advice:

  • Play around and experiment.
  • Different fragrance oils can react differently with the base. Some of the fragrances will go super thick and others will go really runny. Our assessment allows four slightly different recipes to help you combat these issues.
  • The biggest problem is being too heavy handed with the fragrance oil, or using too much alcohol to pop the surface bubbles. These can both cause the batch to go runny. Super accurate weighing scales are perfect to help with this.
  • If your batch is too runny for your liking then get some foaming hand pump dispensers. These are perfect for dispensing runny soaps and dispensing them as a foam.

What Soakies Say:

  • My favourite part of the liquid soap is the ability to make it in different thicknesses! Soap slime is super popular with children and super easy to make using the thickest batch! Also its like magic its super thin in consistency until you add the ‘magic’ ingredient. Me and my kids had a lot of fun making potions with this!
  • Omg the bubbles!!! Lovely and soft on the skin. So quick and easy to make. Brilliant as a hand soap too, I get very dry hands in the winter and I have noticed that using this as hand soap has stopped my hands from cracking and drying out further.I have sold much of this as I end up using it for personal use all the time!
  • A little goes a long way with the colour. It’s fantastic to be able to have 4 different levels of thickness so you can make so many different products.

The Best Tools:

  • Pump Dispenser: These hand pump dispensers are perfect for if you’re going to be using your creations as hand soap.
