Take our Soakies advice on what to do when you need a pick-me-up
No matter what job you’re in, it’s not uncommon for you to feel a little bit lacklustre. However, when you have to be as creative as possible to keep your products competitive, it can add some extra pressure.
So, next time you need a kick up the backside to start feeling motivated again, take our Soakies advice on how they give themselves a boost.

- If I need a break, I’ll take one. But I’ll always push myself to get back into it. The only person my business relies on is myself and the only thing that is being let down is my business. So reminding myself of this helps. Sometimes I chuck some music on or a film and lose myself in making. Motivation will always come back as long as you’re willing.
- Look back at my original creations to see how far I’ve come. Also, read some of my reviews and how pleased customers have been.
- I use my own products… I use them and remind myself that my stuff is good, it works and it helps, and me putting my products out in the world is for other people, not for me. I enjoy the feeling using my products gives me, and I remember that other people feel that too and it’s all that matters!
- I look at other creators and it gives me motivation to get straight back to it. I also remember why I started my small business and I am a firm believer in not giving up.
- Write lists of what needs to be done. The satisfaction of completing that list is so good.
